Our Work

Supporting Child Nutrition and Community Food Access

At the Donnell-Kay Foundation, we believe every child in Colorado deserves the nourishment they need to thrive—no matter their zip code or background. We partner with changemakers across the state—farmers, early childcare providers, advocates, and agencies—to improve healthy food access efforts.

From bolstering Colorado’s local food supply chains for farm-to-school efforts to expanding access to federal food programs in early childhood settings, our work spans the field and the policy table. Our partners are not just addressing hunger—they are transforming the systems that shape it: neighborhood networks, childcare infrastructure, school meals, and statewide policy.

Our work is aimed at ensuring every child—and the families and caregivers who support them—have the healthy food they need to grow, learn, and lead. When Colorado’s kids are nourished, our communities are stronger.
