About Us: Our Websites

The Donnell-Kay Foundation is involved in several projects for which individual partner web sites have been created. For more information about these programs, please click on the links provided below.

Crumbling Classrooms - www.crumblingclassrooms.org

Colorado is one of the small handful of states that does not gather information on K-12 facilities at the state level. Accordingly, the state does not know exactly how many buildings there are, muchless what condition they are in.

In an attempt to better understand conditions of K-12 schools across Colorado, the Foundation launched a wide-reaching assessment project in 2004, the results of which are in this website. Additionally, additional work and research since the initial project can be found here as well.

Education News Colorado - www.ednewscolorado.org

The only news service devoted to continuing, in-depth coverage of education policymaking in the legislature and state government and to serious analysis of such issues as school choice, accountability and education reform.

The goal is to provide the kind of detailed, balanced news and analysis that readers don't get from interest groups and professional associations or from the commercial media.

On this site you can find breaking news briefs and detailed stories, as well as reporting on education lobbying and analysis of the latest education studies by Colorado research and advocacy organizations.

There's a chart tracking education bills in the 2008 session.

Subscribe to daily news summaries and week-ahead reports delivered every Monday.

For lively commentary, there's the Schools for Tomorrow blog.

EdNewsColorado.org is designed to allow its readers to follow education policy as it's being made, not just read about it after the fact.
