Antonio Parés works to ensure that all Coloradans have access to a relevant and responsive education through the deployment of disruptive and innovative strategies, and the informing and influencing of policy and policy leaders.
Prior to DK, Antonio served as the education policy director for the Mayor’s Office of Children’s Affairs at the City of Denver. There he advised city leadership on education issues and policy while establishing a team focused on Denver’s early childhood through postsecondary education continuum. Antonio has also consulted with multiple national nonprofits focused on educational equity, worked on local, political campaigns both in Texas and Colorado, and supported two school turnaround efforts within Denver Public Schools. Antonio started his career as a secondary social studies teacher with Teach For America in Texas along the United States and Mexico border.
Antonio serves on a number of boards including Inside the Orchestra, Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, The HadaNõu Collective, and the Colorado Charter School Institute, which he was appointed to by Colorado’s Governor in 2016. Antonio is a Colorado native and a proud third-generation alumnus of the University of Colorado Boulder, where he studied political science. He resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife and better half, Emily Parés.
