Antonio Parés

Antonio is pursuing the universal goal of a quality education for all Coloradans through the creation of partnerships, the deployment of targeted and innovative strategies, and the informing and influencing of policy and policy leaders. Prior to DK, Antonio served as the Education Policy Director for the Mayor’s Office of Children’s Affairs at the City and County of Denver. There he advised City leadership on education issues and policy and established the City’s education team, whose mission was to develop and improve Denver’s education continuum. Antonio started his career as a secondary social studies teacher with Teach For America in south Texas, where he taught at IDEA Public Charter Schools along the US-Mexico border.

Antonio serves as President of the Board of Directors for Inside the Orchestra, was a founding member of the United Neighborhoods Governance Council – a collective impact and funding initiative focused on north Denver, and in 2016 was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to serve on the Colorado Charter School Institute board.
